Course au PCC: O'Leary participera à un débat bilingue à Montréal

yeah, it's pretty clear that this guy buys pretty strongly into the the history of canada being a tag-along for US trends.
reagan -> mulroney |
clinton -> chretien liberals |
w -> harper |
barack -> trudeau |
trump -> this fuckhat

alas, three problems seem to present themselves:
1) trump does represent a sort of trend in the western world, but canada has had so much immigration that it doesn't look like any other western country, so should have outgrown this;
2) trudeau's father is the only divergence from the historical mean (he ran the show during from lyndon johnson until reagan's second term, skipping nixon/ford), and there's good enough reason to believe that canada might similarly skip a right wing reversion. then it was vietnam, now it's an immigration issue that canada simply doesn't have;
3) trump is going to tank our country and everyone sensible knows it. even if this serpent slithers into the leadership of the conservative party up there, canadians will have an object lesson on how stupid it is to blow your brains out like we've done here. fire your credibility in a rocket ship to the moon that you believe is made out of cheese? only america could be so stupid (and i guess the filipines too).
