court for 71 in a 45... an update :(

Okay, since negotiations didn't work here's what you do. Write the clerk of courts asking for the evidence in the case. Specifically ask for a copy of the front and back of the summons, the radar calibration logs. The tuning fork numbers used for calabration, the speedometer calibration certification for the cruiser (since you said the cop was passing you), a copy of the officers certification to run the radar (I'm assuming it is radar but they need current certificate to run any clocking device) as well as "any other inform relating to the case". Then you look up the statute number of the law you broke (it should be on the front of the summons) copy the actual statute. Where I live local libraries have the law books for the localities they are in. Use them to your advantage. Now look for any issues in all the paperwork. Make copies of EVERYTHING. If they don't provide you with the documents you request, messed up the documents, didn't have the proper certificates or didn't specifically follow the written law you have a case. I got my wife off of a large ticket using this method because the officer was 8 months expired on his certificate to run radar. Good luck and god speed. For full disclosure I ma only familiar with Pennsylvania and New Jersey traffic courts and how they work
