Covid cases stay down, but other respiratory illnesses are surging, N. Va. health leaders say

We all get it, it’s just not true. I understand why you might think that if you were tying to come up with a reason for the bad flu season this year. It’s a great hypothesis to test. The problem is, you thinking something doesn’t make it true and it doesn’t stand up to that testing. Other people have shared links and googling will provide you with results (although you have to remember that an opinion piece or blog post from someone who agrees with you is not evidence). This is a real thing we can test and your great thinking just doesn’t hold up to what actually happens. We had a fu season like this in 2009 too. It happens every so often and usually people would follow basic recommended precautions like washing their hands more. But now that basic recommended precautions have improved and could actually make more of a difference than recommendations in the past, we have all these dinguses who have their own theories about immunity like they’re all epidemiologists refusing to follow them, and we aren’t getting any of the benefit of improved precautions. If the problem is our imminent systems from covid precautions, why did we have almost this exact same problem in 2009 with flu and rsv? Did you lock yourself at home for 3/4 of 2009? Cause the rest of us didn’t and this same thing happened. It’s called a bad flu season. Just wear your damn mask or keep your coughing self at home. Please.
