COVID daycare closures : refund

You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, friend. Tell them you are struggling and see if there's a way to come to a solution. Also see if you can get a group of parents together to petition (in a productive, not-Karen-y way) both the daycare and the local health authorities for more reasonable COVID policies. "Test to stay" for example.

I agree it's not fair, but the daycares are often struggling as much as the parents. If it's a small center, it's likely a small business that is running on fumes/in a lot of debt. The economies of scale that exist for other industries do not exist with daycare in the US with all the ratio regulations, see this story here for an explanation: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2021-11-18/biden-s-build-back-better-wants-to-save-america-s-child-care-business

Also, personally I've found that the people who are hit the hardest with COVID closures are those who test ALL the time and are hyper-conscientious, so maybe when there's a mild runny nose, try to not think about it...sorry to say, that's sometimes the most pragmatic strategy with these kinds of policies.
