Cox Communications Sucks

I have been without internet for about 4 weeks now (actually kind of liberating..). I moved right when Verizon went on strike - had their service with no issues for 4 years but right now they have literally no one to install services at a new place. So I cancelled with them when they told me it'd be 6 weeks before they could schedule my install.

Called Cox and got an install date the next day. Perfect! Took the day off, sat around for the entire two hour window period when they were supposed to show up. They no-showed. I called the main service line and they told me they tried to call me numerous times but my phone was out of service. I told them I was using that very phone line to call them and I hadn't received any messages. They insisted they tried to call, but it was pouring rain and I have a distinct feeling someone didn't feel like installing cable in a monsoon. Whatever, they credit me $20 and reschedule for the following day.

Tech shows up right on time the following day, but tells me the cable that is currently hooked up is "too old" for the service they are running now and that I'll need to reschedule an install with his manager to have two electricians come out to install new wire. At this point I pretty much expected something would go wrong, considering my prior luck. He told me I'd get a call from a manager on Monday. Okie dokie dude, sounds good.

I get a call yesterday from someone at Cox asking if I have time to speak with an agent. I get put on hold for 30 minutes before someone picks up to confirm my address. I confirm and get put on hold for another 10 minutes before someone answers, dials a few buttons and hangs up on me. I called back and spent the next hour being ping-ponged around to different departments. The "help desk" wasn't sure why I was transferred there but did tell me my install wasn't scheduled yet and they hadn't even reached out to a manager about it yet. So they called me, put me on hold, hung up on me and then gave me the run around.

I asked to be transferred back to the regular service department so I could speak to a supervisor regarding my time being wasted and my install date still not being scheduled. I was transferred by two different people to a "supervisor," where I waited on hold a total of 40 minutes before hanging up because I had other things to get done during my day.

It's absolutely unbelievable the shit they are able to get away with. Any other company would lose customers hand over foot, but they have no competition. Especially now because I can't even leave to go back to FIOS until the strike is over.

It's literally a nightmare.
