I mean yeah, the whole single family home bullshit is a dead housing platform. My wife and I bought a townhouse in 2020 with 5% down. Neither of us had help from our families or make over 6 figures yet we live in coastal southern California. Our place has two shared walls with our neighbors, a tiny back patio area where we can hangout with friends, and a detached garage to store all our shit. There's a bedroom for us and a bedroom for our daughter so there's no unused space. If more people started shooting for realistic housing needs instead of thinking they deserve a 5 bedroom track home sitting on 10k sq/ft of land in a high cost or living area then we might be able to get somewhere.
