Categorically, carrying a hunting rifle, a concealed sidearm, a sport gun, and a military rifle*, show different intents.

Um, what? They serve different purposes but an object cannot show intent by itself. A gun by itself doesn't show intent any more than a baseball shows intent. Intent to what, play baseball or beat someone's face in, or to use as a monstrous dildo to explore the crevices of your upper large intestine? It's capable of all of the above, and it's mere existence does not indicate intent.

Just because I own a hunting rifle doesn't mean I hunt. Just because I own an AR15 doesn't mean I oper8.

If you mean within context, a hunting rifle in a park vs a handgun, I'd tend to agree. But just because you can't get a bobcat to 100mph dooesn't mean you can't drive it across country.
