Crazy guest convinced I broke into her car

My former crazy innkeeper at the resort I worked at decided to give everyone on staff a crisp $100 bill for Christmas. She got 60 of them from the bank to distribute. Sounded simple enough but once January rolled around we still had 6 bills left. She insisted they be kept in our back office safe, she didn’t want to redeposit the money. For two friggen years the envelope sat in there being shuffled around with other documents. Every now and then she’d inquire if the $600 was still there and go searching, there were only two of us with the combination (we kept the filing cabinet keys in there). I prayed everytime the money was still there, I felt like she was testing our honesty. One time she was going on a trip and she groused at me when I came in to work that she couldn’t find the $600, I was preparing for her to call the police. In a state of panic I got the safe open, moved a few things around and found the money, I was so relieved to hand it to her.
