The 'Create-A-Character' competition is now open for entrants!

  • Minato Arata
  • This character is very kind, and has a sense of justice. He is also very outgoing and will do anything he believes is possible.

Arata is 162 cm (5.3 feet). He has a thin build, and weighs 46kg (103 pounds). * Arata lived a normal life with a normal family on the outskirts of Academy City. One day, however, his house was caught between a battle between Skill-Outs and Judgement. A stray grenade would have killed him, but his parents shielded him from the blast. After seeing his parents sacrifice themselves to save him, he swore that he would act as a guardian to shield others from danger. In need of power to protect, Arata applies for an experimental Dual-Skill project that required child errors as subjects, and gets in. * Chrono-Aegis (Level 4, users of this ability are able to create temporary barriers around themselves that freeze objects in time. It can be five feet in diameter, and last up to four seconds. Additionally, he can choose to have it follow him or stay in place. They can only be created one meter within his range) * Rewind (Level 3, users of this ability are able to select objects with a limit of 5kg, and pull them back in time by up to three seconds) For example, if they shoot a bullet too far ahead of an enemy, they can reverse it's time. Since objects will retain their momentum through Rewind, it will continue to travel forward. * This character knows nobody other than the researchers he had lived with. * Hunt and Seek Arc: There was a catch for becoming a Dual-Skill. Twenty Dual-Skill espers, including Arata, were to be released from the factory (place where they were raised as Dual-Skills?). They had to fight until they couldn't stop fighting. The five remaining Dual-Skills get to carry on with their lives, while the other fifteen are sent back to the factories, and their abilities removed (The higher-ups/researchers are observing ~with their sciency stuff~, so they are able to tell who wins or loses). The reason for this is because maintaining a single Dual-Skill is extremely expensive. Scientists must tamper with the espers' brains and implant computers that assist with calculations. Even then, it was unreliable.

The twenty Dual-Skill espers are deployed in random places in the city. Arata lands a mile or two away from some dorms. Another esper arrived at nearly the same point. They engage in battle.

Arata soon finds out that one of the opponent's ability is the level four Aero Lance. They have the power to generate spears of air, which can be fired at lethal speeds. Unfortunately for him (Arata), the enemy's attacks are omni-directional (meaning they can come from behind him, the side, etc.) Unable to defeat him, Arata takes off in the direction of the dorms. He barges into a random room, where he sees a silver-haired child biting on some guy's head. Disregarding the awkward scene, Arata asks for help. Touma battles with the opponent with Aero Lance, easily dispelling his spears of air ~with his OP plot armor~. However, it is revealed that the esper's secondary ability was a level four version of Singularity. He could cause random areas to spontaneously implode (imposions are three feet in diameter) by focusing gravity on a specific point... ?????

(I'll think of it later, got too carried away with details anyways) Touma and Arata find some way to win. They defeat two other espers, and they get victory and all that. The end. (It's 4:30 in the morning, the hell am I doing?)
