You have the creative liberties to punish the individuals responsible for billions of robocalls any way you see fit. How would you punish them?

Life in prison. They are locked in a room with the phone ringing nonstop with constant robocalls. So you might say what good would that do? Just wait.

The phones will occasionally stop ringing, giving the robocallers some time to rest. But as soon as they fall asleep, the calls will start again. They will never achieve a deep slumber due to constant robo calls. The calls will be never ending. Different ringtones, same ringtones, it doesn’t matter because the calls will keep coming.

But there’s one more thing. Every year there will be 1 call where if they answer it, they go free. No questions asked. And they will get a sizable pension to live out their days.

But there are only 1 of these calls a year and the call will be at a random time during the year. If they do not answer the phone, oh well. Better luck next year. They will not be told whether they have missed this call or not, which will make them always be wondering when that call might be.

Any suicide attempts will be stopped and will lead to further punishment. Also, should sleep deprivation become severe enough that they begin to lose their grip on reality, punishment will pause until they are well-rested. They will be placed in an area to rest with a comfortable bed. However, there will be water droplets dripping from the ceiling at an uneven interval. The room will also have an extremely high humidity rate and smell like wet gym socks.

The goal of all of this is to give the robo callers hope, hope they may finally get their freedom and the life they’ve always wanted, only to repeatedly quash it
