Creative Writing Workshops/Classes in Glasgow

In terms of learning about creative writing in Glasgow, unless you commit to a masters degree, such as the Glasgow University MLitt then everything else is mostly tinkering. You would learn more about the craft by reading four or five of the major books on the subject - Stephen King's 'On Writing', Vogler, Richard Skinner, Will Storr, Sol Stein...whoever you choose, there's a lot of crossover.

My own advice would be to just write and get feedback from a writers group. A lot of people in the industry are slightly sniffy about non-pro writers groups but remember, should your work ever be published it will be read by readers, not writers, so their feedback is arguably a lot more useful than that of other writers.

If you're set on a course, you may extract better value online from places such as Curtis & Brown or the Faber & Faber Academy, purely down to the quality of the teachers and the potential contacts you could make if your work is immediately impressive.

Anyhow, it's a hard old game, so write for the love of it, not for the prizes or the publication (those are lovely bonuses if and when they arrive). Best of luck
