Since i know my comment would get buried im hijacking top comment. Senator wicker is one of my representatives and recently i messaged him about the equality act telling him im trans and how we didnt choose to be born this way and that we deserve to be to be protected under the law and he responded to me with this

Representative David Cicilline (D-RI-1) introduced H.R. 5 on February 18, 2021.  As you may know, this bill would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to include sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity as prohibited categories of discrimination or segregation in places of public accommodation.  This bill was passed by the House of Representatives on February 24, 2021 and is awaiting consideration by the Senate.  I will continue to work to protect the First Amendment rights of those who, based on their religious convictions, oppose same-sex marriage.   Be assured I will keep your views in mind as Congress considers legislation affecting the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can ever assist you.
