I think this is a great question. I’ve only started watching CM since the pandemic began. Then George Floyd was killed and the protests started and it caused me to look hard at my viewing habits. I will no longer watch shows that just flat-out glorify the police and all they do. I will not watch Shemar Moore’s new show. So far, I don’t think CM does that. I prefer to think of the BAU as a bunch of psychologists with guns (fully aware they aren’t). Maybe I’m in some kind of denial but I’m hooked now. Probably helps that Reid is my favorite character by far and that I think of Morgan and Hotch as eye candy, lol. I cannot claim to be as perceptive as you with regards to who they shoot and when, though I have noticed they do take an unsub’s psychopathology into account when they can.. Season 4 episode Normal showed that and it was wild.
