OP, if you're interested, I've attached a link below for an excellent 1 hour long documentary on German submarine U-31 on Youtube channel NDR, showing a journey of the sub (current times) from Germany to England through storm conditions. Youtube's Settings > Subtitles > Auto-translate does a good job in converting the speech into English subtitles sufficient enough to follow the conversations. I've enjoyed watching this documentary a few times as much as I've enjoyed watching a good submarine film. Would recommend it to you.
