This is the first thing I've seen even close to furry hate, and I don't think it was that harsh compared to other things on that sub (I'm not subscribed, just clicked around to compare).

The entire Cringeanarchy does not hate furries that I'm aware of. That's a bit click baity there imo.

Honestly? I can see why they would feel that way even if I don't agree. I'll take my downvotes, but this mural appeals to us, and is not something that appeals to a wide audience right now.

If you want to supersede the audience issue you have to have some immaculate and professional level talent. That includes depth texture and background.

This is a highschool mural with highschool art talent. That's just what it is. That in no way makes it bad... In fact it's pretty good talent for that age. I honestly think it could be about anime, or another art form and illicit the same response. It's even mentioned in the comment section. It's compared to an anime club mural.

Also, the sub is dedicated to making fun of things.

If you don't have professional grade quality odds are you're going to get teased about some aspect. I say that as a former art teacher, muralist, and current painter/sculptor. The piece was given limited products and appeals to a limited audience. The art is flat, limited, but we like it because it appeals to us.

If you look in the comments you can see some people are comparing the murals to some obscure characters that they wouldn't typically know about. This indicates that they're trying to be part of the hivemind, but secretly? They are at least fur curious.

I know that it's hard to see someone dislike something you love, but let me tell you, it happens. It comes with being in an obscure community.

I am more surprised with how even keel most of the comments are compared to comments on other posts.
