A critical reanalysis of a systematic review: Davies and Read 2019

I understand the PoV. It's just ironic that sometimes the very same group of "skeptical" psychologists are the same that rebuff on psychoanalysis (or, indeed, any other more complete Model of the Mind, aside from the cognitivist paradigm), which leads to, IMO, not really a "holistic" care for the mental health of hte patient.

At least in my country, the proportion of psychiatrists who become psychoanalysts is higher than the proportion of psychologists who do so. And that's not even taking into account the amount of colleagues who are guided by psychoanalytic training/mindset but who don't necessarily wish to go through the whole psychoanalytic certification process.

There's no "hollistic" care of mental health by teaching patients breathing exercises and telling them to fill questionnaires about how they're feeling.
