Except you'd probably have died already. Humanity only advanced because we didn't waste all of our time repeating the work of others. That's why we developed standards in academia to ensure that everyone's work is reproducible without checking it 7billion times. Sure, it's not perfect and we still get things wrong, sometimes it takes a long time to fix. But it is by far the best system we have and you can take your anti-intellectualism and shove it.
