Wouldn't surprise me. I used to wonder why all the mainline news and politics subs almost universally espoused viewpoints from left leaning progressives and a few outright socialists and communists when IRL they don't even make up the majority of Democrats. Like when you take into account polling and election results something really weird is going on when 99% in a mainline sub represent minority talking points.

Of course now I know. I got banned from one of the major news subs. It happened right around the fallout from SCOTUS overturning Roe v Wade. Someone made a comment saying how it'd lead to suicide among rape victims, a bunch of others chimed in with stuff like

"that's exactly what they want, they WANT rape victims to kill themselves its why they did it"

and and my response was something along the lines of

"You really think they're motivated by something so cartoonishly evil? Like even by insane cartoon villain standards that's nuts, even an outright Nazi would think that's crazy and I support the right to have an abortion"

And that got me permabanned for a sub covering US news.
