I sat up, rubbing my head. My head pounding I opened my eyes, blurred vision. As my eyes slowly adjusts, my heart sinks. This isn’t my room, I thought, I looked down to see nothing, Oh no, where are my clothes? I frantically looked around the room, my eyes still not quite yet adjusted to the light pouring in. I see a lump on the other side of the bed and my heart hit rock bottom. There was a man, sleeping peacefully. His hair a dark, deep, shade of black, just long enough to run your hands through and grab fist fulls. His slightly chiseled chin has a light stubble. His lips, a perfect cupid’s bow, slightly plump, they look really soft and extremely kissable. Oh god, what am I thinking? I don’t even know his name! I catch myself reaching out to touch those irresistible lips. He starts to stir and I think my heart is going to leap out of my throat. He turns without waking, I shouldn’t get out of the bed just yet, I don’t want him to actually wake up. I start to look around the room, it’s huge. I look up, there is a beautiful deep red colored canopy with golden tiebacks atop four astoundingly carved bed posts. There are lions on every bed post, I let my eyes fall to the duvet, It is a beautiful rich yellow color, with a golden runner across the foot of the bed, the same color as the tiebacks.

I toss the duvet off as I swing my legs off the edge of the bed. I start to stand and promptly fall back on the bed. I quickly turn to him, he didn’t move. I try again and manage to keep my balance. I don’t see any clothes on the floor, so I go looking for the bathroom instead. I found it quickly, thanks to the door being left open, An en suite bathroom? This is pretty cool. I smirk and giggle a little, I’ve never had such a luxury in my life. My lips fall as I look in the mirror, I saw a reddish purple circle on my left clavical, A HICKEY? I could feel my rage filling up. I saw a golden robe hanging on the back of the door and snatched it off the little hook that held it. I threw it on and finished tying the knot when I heard a deep yawn. I opened the door to the rugged looking man, who was sitting up rubbing the back of his head, that luscious hair swishing from side to side from his vigorous movements. I cursed at myself silently for thinking he is gorgeous, this man left a hickey on me, a hickey! He looked up at me and I froze. His eyes are like ice, a luxurious white blue, with heavy deep blue rings. They softened as he looked at me, then he smiled, a boyish grin, very cheeky.

“Hey.” He said while smiling, “Thanks for last night.”

I felt a hot blush explode on my face, “Last night? I don’t-” I started to say when it all came flooding back.

I walked out the door, to meet my best friend, Samantha Hodgins. “You’re really wearing that to the club?” She asked as she looked me up and down. I was wearing a tanktop and jeans with my favorite pair of sneakers. “RoseAnna Princely, my dear sweet best friend, what would you do without me?” She said as she was pulling a bag up from behind the passenger seat of her dark purple Mazda Touring that her parents gave to her as a 21st birthday gift.

“I told you not to call me that, Sam.” I tried to act angry, but I was more interested about what was in the bag. I smiled as she smiled at me and shook the bag. I took it and looked in, it was a pair of Victoria Louboutins, sleek black 3-in platform pencil heels, and a small tight black dress. I smiled even bigger at her. “Where the hell did you get this?” I asked excitedly.

“A girls’ gotta have her secrets, Rose. But, for you, I will tell. My parents are in Tuscany, they said to get whatever I needed. I was shopping earlier and saw that dress and knew it was for you. Of course no outfit would be complete without shoes.” She said in her sly smile. As she saw my reaction, it only got bigger.

“Sam! I love it, I really do, but you need to stop spending your parents money like that.” I said as she rolled her eyes.

“Yeah yeah, must we go over this every time? Anyways, hurry and change.” She said shooing me back into my house. I complied, rushing in and to my bedroom. I kicked off my sneakers and socks, unzipped my jeans and shimmied out of them leaving them in a heap on the bedroom floor. I threw off my tank top and reached for the bag, I pulled the black dress out and put it on. It was loose in the breast, but not to loose, it was very fitting on in the ass. I walked over to my dresser and opened a jewelry box, which housed the multitude of items Sam has gotten me when her parents leave. I rummaged through it until I found the matching necklace and earring set she got me two years ago. Solitary half carat stud earrings and a solitary one carat stone necklace on a 2.5 mm 18 carat white gold rope chain. I slipped on the Louboutins and walked out the door holding a clutch purse Sam got me when her parents went to Nassau last year. I put my makeup on in the car as we drove to the club, everything perfect, right down to the lipstick to match the signature red soles.

“Damn, I look good. All thanks to my best friend.” I leaned over and gave her a kiss on the cheek and she smiled.

“You’re welcome, Rose.” She said smiling.

We get to the club, Spade, as usual, it’s packed. Sam pulls up and we get out of the car, she walked up to the valet as I walked to the door and waited until she joined me. We cleared the line and walked in laughing, like always, because all the girls in the line scowl at us and it is oh so hilarious. We walked up to the bar, ordered and got our usual, Sex On The Beach for me and a gin and tonic for Sam, and sat at “our” table. I love coming here with Sam, it’s so fun, this is the real me, not the person that everyone sees outside of this club. Sipping on my drink, trying my best to chat with Sam, there is nothing left to sip.

“MY DRINK IS EMPTY, I’M GOING TO GET ANOTHER. DO YOU NEED ANYTHING FROM THE BAR?” I yelled above the music to Sam. She shook her head no as I was getting out of the booth. I made my way through the crowd to the bar. I need something stronger, my thoughts have made me sad, and right now, here, I don’t want to be sad, I want to have fun with my best friend. “Can I get a bottle of tequila, please?” I asked the bartender.

“Do you need limes with that?” He asked with a smile on his face.

“A lot of them would be great.” I said smiling back. He handed me my bottle of tequila and limes, there is a shot glass on top of the limes. I turned and started to walk back to my booth when I saw a man in a suit, it’s black, with a silk white shirt, his hair slightly wavy, which stopped me dead in my tracks. He had a glass of dark liquid, I can only assume is scotch. He looked up and we lock eyes, his eyes, cold and icy blue, distant. It sends chills up my body and I almost drop everything in my hands. I compose myself quickly and smile, a very sexy smile. I get back to my booth and Sam is gone, which is typical. I open my bottle, grab the salt, a lime, and pour myself a shot. Oh that’s a great taste. About four in, someone walks up to my booth. I look up from my bangs to see the man from the bar.

“Can I sit?” He asked gesturing to the other side of the booth.

I look up fully and notice a hint of a smile on his face. “Sure, why not?” He sat down and took a drink. A waiter immediately came by and asked if he would like another, the man nodded and the waiter took off. Since when did this bar have waiters? I eyed him curiously, pondering if I should even ask any of my many questions about him. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you here before.” I said before knocking back another shot. I lock eyes with him while I lick the salt from my hand and bite and suck on the lime.
