Crossing the line

My dad left when I (17F) was 15. I'm currently about to turn 18. So it's been almost 3 years since I have seen him. Before he ditched out on our family, for the women he was cheating on my mom with, he put up a bunch of cameras and motion sensors around our house. He also had a speaker inside one of the main cameras, that he could speak through.

He was a police officer at the time, and he would go to work, and just sit in his office writing reports and watching the footage at home all day long. He had it set up so that if the motion sensors went off or the camera detected movement he would get notified on his phone.

He knew when I left my bedroom. He knew when I went up stairs. He knew when I was using the bathroom. He knew when I was in the hallway. And he knew when I was in the kitchen grabbing food. One time I specifically remember him watching me on the camera ( I could hear the camera whirring as it followed my movement ), as I went into the kitchen for a snack. He then came over the speaker and asked me what I was doing. I told him I was hungry. He asked what I was trying to grab to eat. I told him something simple like crackers. And he refused saying I could have a granola bar, and to get my ass out of the kitchen.

Another time my mom was sitting on the couch, playing Dr Mario on my DSi, she was home alone when he came on the speaker and said "Dr Mario going pretty good?" After awhile me and my siblings and mom would just stay in our bedrooms all day long because we didn't want to be recorded. All though I had suspicions he had placed a camera in my bedroom as well.

He was extremely controlling, and very verbally, and physically abusive. There were times when I would go into the bathroom and I would have welts all over my legs from being whipped. And hand prints on my back and butt from being slapped and spanked. He split my brothers lip, whipped him with the end of a belt with the buckle, told us he would spank us till our asses bled. He handcuffed me to a door knob for long periods when I had to use the bathroom. He would chase us around the house with his taser and a lot more.

He controlled everything that us kids did as well as my mom and it was terrible. I'm just glad he's gone now.
