Cruise Ship/Hotel workers of Reddit. What is something you aren't allowed to tell us?

So true... Someone calls "Hello I just made a booking on Expedia and-" "Then you have to call Expedia's customer service line, the number is XXXXXXXXXX. Thank you goodbye!"

Literally whatever you're calling about, I can't be fucked to deal with you if you did it on Expedia.

Also I laugh at your requests. Mostly because they're just impossible shit that we could have talked about and found reasonable compromise if you'd actually CALLED US DIRECT, but no, they will be ignored because you did it on Expedia and I am putting in your res at 2am because that's when we have time to do it, and I'm sure you don't want me calling at 2am to explain that your shit is ridiculous.

Stuff like extra anything upon check-in. I am not on housekeeping, there is no easy way of giving them this message. People ask for stuff we simply don't have or is just entitlement, like they put in the notes that they want free breakfast. Wow, just wow. Let me go back to our non-existent kitchen and get that for you. Not.

Also 2nd floor rooms, rooms by the pool, rooms with a view etc- NOPE, you booked the cheapest rate you do not get to choose. People who paid us direct get to choose those things.

Finally, what is it with the websites sending out confirmation without any input from us? They just automatically confirm as soon as you send your info, before we get ANYTHING or even try to collect payment. People walk up with this confirmation number from expedia when we cancelled their shit WEEKS ago because they gave us a fake card. Then they want us to honor that rate, cue my laughter. We are sold out sir. Nothing I can do.
