Here's the crux of all of these etiquette discussions: I refuse to allow the Overwatch community to be toxic like so many others

This is exactly the opposite of what you should be doing. People who don't care aren't going to suddenly start caring, but they aren't the only people who are causing problems. A very large part of why people say shit like "gg ez" is to make you mad. When you make posts like this, they're getting the attention they want and you're reinforcing that kind of behavior.

The best communities I have been a part of are ones where people aren't afraid of hurting each other's feelings. Call people out for being trash. If they start doing anything other than actively trying to improve the situation, just start ignoring them. There should be a fear of being shit. That's what pushes us to become better as human beings. Nobody should ever feel like they're in the right when they played poorly. Nobody likes flamers, but the only reason they become a problem is because people like you take that shit as some kind of personal attack instead of realizing everything would be fixed if you just got better.

By all means, be a good sport. Be the change you want to see in the world. But don't go protecting people who play like shit and act like the victim when they get called out.
