CS:GO - Are you getting FPS drops? Maybe this will help! | BananaGaming

I've been playing around with the AMD Crimson driver settings for applications and managed to increase my FPS. Try the settings out if you think your rig should be able to push far better FPS and share the results. Even if they're positive.

For the testing I used a map called FPS Benchmark from workshop. I ran the map once per Crimson application setting changed. I don't know if there are any other factors in play for benchmarking, but I did notice a significant FPS increase in MM. Shit works. Bear in mind that this FPS is not what I get in MM, but in the benchmarking map.

Not the best example, but this is my FPS after tweaking: http://imgur.com/DnxoFE8 In-game settings: http://imgur.com/zSP3i2s

Application settings Anti-aliasing Mode: Use application settings Anti-aliasing Method: Adaptive multisampling Morphological Filtering: Off Anisotropic Filtering Mode: 16x Texture Filtering Quality: High Surface Format Optimization: On Wait for Vertical Refresh: Always off OpenGL Triple Buffering: Off Shader Cache: AMD optimized Tesselation Mode: Use application settings Frame Rate Target Control: Disabled

Notes:

Morphological Filtering Makes the game ugly. Messy text, sniper rifles scoped in didn't have straight lines. Drops FPS. Texture Filtering Quality and Anisotropic Filtering Level These had no effect on FPS with my computer. Tesselation Mode Having anything else than Use application settings ended up dropping FPS. Anti-aliasing Method Supersampling avg 84.11 FPS. Multisampling avg 88.32 FPS. Adaptive Multisampling avg 90.42 FPS.

Something else worth mentioning: Average FPS with -threads 8 in launch options 89.79. (FX-8350 has 8 cores) Average FPS with -threads 4 in launch options 100.31. Removing -high from launch options increased the avg FPS to 104.38.
