Yes, but keep in mind the ratios involved here. Apple probably stands to gain or lose much more money by removing a single internal screw in the design of iPhone 13 than all revenue from all Redditors put together. The advantage of getting more people to Linux and open source is that the community gets larger, and as the community gets larger available software gets better (hopefully). The complaints help in a sense in that one thing Apple does not want is to lose its privacy reputation. If enough techy people complain loudly enough to their non-techy friends and the media reports it fairly widely, Apple will take a reputation hit which is probably worth more than the loss of the "vote with your wallet" people.
