Culture War Roundup for the week of August 06, 2018

I also think something that gets lost in the debate is that 'culture change' is universal across human history, the same way 'cultural appropriation' is often just the natural process of people meeting and exchanging ideas and customs. America's culture changed from agrarian to industrial to post-industrial over just a few generations, and it looks like more upheavals are in store. At a certain point, fighting against cultural change is like fighting against the tide. And again, same with appropriation.

this is too broad to mean anything. opponents of immigration aren't opposed to every cultural change possible, they're potentially opposed to cultural changes associated with a major demographic shift, which isn't a force of nature but a result of specific policies.
