Culture War Roundup for the Week of April 20, 2020

One may recall that Feinstein's office sat on Ford's allegations for weeks before going public when she thought the moment was right.

This is a little inflammatory, so I expect a mod may tell me to take this down, but as it is the weekend, I don't expect anyone to actually read this, so here goes. If you think this is a little too gossipy, tell me and I will remove it.

Ford was very well known in high school, as she was notorious. Kavanaugh and all the boys in his high school definitely knew who she was, most particularly because of one frankly bizarre event. Ford was very slutty, and on one occasion was caught, in flagrant delicto, with a gardener from the country club, by her father. He marched her, naked, through the country club to his car. As you can imagine, everyone knew about this five minutes later. Kavanaugh lied when he said he didn't know who Ford was. He may never have met her, but he definitely had heard that story. So had most of that D.C. set, and thus the story was turned up by Feinstein almost immediately. This left Feinstein in a quandary. She felt she could not in good faith go forward with Ford as a witness, as she expected the story to break, and thus make her, Feinstein, look stupid. Other people had better judgment, and realized that no-one could break the story as it was just too radioactive, so it never came out.

Everyone in the DC press knows this story. No-one in the DC press can tell this story, because, as you can tell, it is a little too ribald. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with teen girls being slutty, and nailing anything that moves, but sadly, some people are more apt to judge the truth of an allegation based on the prior behavior of the accuser.

I realize I should ask around about Tara Reade to see what the inside scoop is. If I hear anything, I might post.
