Culture War Roundup for the Week of June 01, 2020

I was raised in a strict evangelical faith, and once I rejected it (when I was about 18), I came to deeply despise everything associated with it.

However, I can acknowledge there are things about it that seem irreplaceable. For me, those things are 1) the uniting force of vision to enable pro-social action, and 2) the sense of community that naturally evolves from being in the same place and doing the same thing every weekend.

It seems to me your idea addresses #1 but not #2. I appreciate the work you’ve done thinking about it, because I think about it often. But I just don’t see how your idea would generate a “community.” Am I missing something?
