It really is very weird.

I think in part it’s because of Trump’s comparison of them to the Nazis at Charlottesville and the false equivalency and “good people on both sides”. So mainstream liberal media is reluctant to bring any attention to their bad behavior because that would dilute the condemnation of Trump for his racism.

But it’s really strange to me that I can say here that I’m not comfortable going to rallies where they are in attendance and get downvoted. Or that beating up a man on our side because he was carrying an American flag was wrong.

I guess my parents raised me with their Pete Seeger/Joan Baez values and that’s what I think is more effective and, at least for me, aligns with my values and goals.
