Curious: are food aversions similar or different to what picky eaters feel normally?

I’m a picky eater and it’s totally different. Picky eating is generally (for me) about ingredients rather than dishes. But it’s also a mental vs physics thing.

When I had food aversions, just the idea of the food gave me a visceral reaction. If feel sick from the thought. Someone could say “lasagne” to me and I’d be queasy for hours thinking about it. My whole body rejected the idea. And these were foods I logically knew I loved.

With the food I’m picky about, I could put it in my mouth and probably chew it before I felt sick. It’s a physical reaction based on texture or taste. Just talking about it doesn’t trigger any bad reaction in me.
