Curious to hear some perspectives on the Canadian YouTuber JJ McCullough?

Oh boy.... Well.... He makes a large variety of videos.... Some like the history of political colours or common candy flavors around the world are really great videos....

Some like the history of Wilfrid Laurier or the Canadian iceberg videos are not bad and although you can see his opinions popping through the facts in some they're still pretty informative/interesting....

Then there's the Quebec/political videos... As someone from BC I hear similar sentiments from others on the west coast (occasionally, it's not a popular belief to be clear) and in the simplest terms it stems from ignorance and a single vaguely bad experience like their city building a French school that was barely used and then shut down so it was a waste of money or similar things like that. However Canadian history is deeply tied to the history of French/cree relations with the British and while there's technically less french people in Quebec than there are Chinese people (one of his talking points) there's also very few people in general lol and if anything we need to be acknowledging the Chinese history of BC more, but not instead of the French history like he would suggest. That respect for french culture is honestly on of the big things that connects the east and the west as it's literally the foundation of our people.

Basically his videos aren't all bad other than his Quebec ones and even with those they can be a good case study to understand why there's anti french sentiment that exists in the west, just make sure to study actual french history for context and keep in mind his opinions aren't really useful for anything other than understanding the phycology of the individuals who think like him due to his ability to articulate himself well.
