Curious to see how many practicing social workers out there have criminal backgrounds...

So I do have a misdemeanor from 2015 for petit larceny (dumb undergrad college stuff) but it has not been a concern yet. during my second year field placement, i got heavy into partying on weekends and got addicted to alcohol for a little bit and there was a big scene that happened during my placement where i got dismissed from my program and took a semester off.

i just graduated with my MSW last month and submitted my application today. I reached out to my past supervisors asking for letters of recommendation in support of my LMSW and will hopefully have them by next week or so. I also had to upload documents pertaining to the incident and it was very stressful just looking at the documents again and reliving what transpired. i'm cautiously optimistic though!

if you need a talk, pm me
