This is the correct comment. I follow the curly girl method, and it works wonders. I had shitty wavy afro hair growing up until I started following the curly girl method. Now people stop me on the street :-)

The method is not difficult, does not take long, and does not need to be expensive. Put simply, it means avoiding shampoos that have silicones and sulfates in them. It means using a leave-in conditioner and a gel. It means drying your hair with a light cloth and then wrapping your hair in that same cloth for a little while before blow drying with a diffuser if you want dry hair sometime of the same day as you wet it. You're going to have to learn a couple techniques but it's easy, fast, and if your hair has a little bit of curl in it, this will bring it all out :-)
