Current and former students of Reddit, what's the worst conflict you've ever had with a teacher?

When I was in nursing school, we had to do practical exams where we'd perform a task for teachers. The tasks were randomized. I picked suctioning a tracheotomy, and something else I can't remember.

That particular task requires sterile technique. Long story short, you use your dominant hand to hold a suction catheter so you can suction goo out of the trach. I had done everything correctly and was about to suction the trach. I used my non-dominate hand, which no longer needed to be sterile, to stabilize the trach plate.

One of the instructors flipped out. Screaming at me for using my hand to stabilize the trach, failed me, and kicked me out of the classroom. She was insistent that using my non-dominate hand to stabilize the plate was wrong. Failing this exam meant getting kicked out of the program. Nursing school is harsh.

I was shocked. Our book, demonstration video, and notes from the day we had studied the task all showed it was fine to stabilize with your other hand. Along with other textbooks and internet sources. I brought this to the dean of the program, who verified with the second teacher that I had performed the task correctly. I did have to repeat the task for credit, but I passed.

The screaming instructor hated me after that. It made the already miserable experience of nursing school that much worse...
