The current state of the community RE: No Flying

The community aspect is next to dead this expansion. Plenty of things factor into it. LFG/LFR/etc/etc..

But I really, truly, believe that if we had the central hub this expansion would feel a lot better community wise. If you honestly boil down what you did on a day to day basis in every expansion ever, you will KNOW that the most time spent was hopping around in town waiting on something.. AH/friends to log on/finding a group in trade/finding pvp players/etc...

You'd hop around inspecting others gear, achievements, emoting with each other, making trains with mounts, and general tom foolery. As trivial as all of that is... it was a form of social interaction that is missing completely from this expansion. You'd get to scope out other guilds, see other cliques, maybe even get caught up in a raid of the opposing faction. NONE of this happens in a garrison... and keeping everyone confined to this keeps it from happening in the last minute Ashran hubs that they added.

The social aspect isn't dead.. but its pretty damn close. My server (Emerald Dream) has had pretty thriving community despite everything these past couple years since the inception of LFG/LFR. So I know thats not the sole culprit. Did it help facilitate it? Im not disagreeing.. but I think there is much more than just that. I had met and socialized with more people in MoP than any other expac to date, but that was because A) I put myself out there an initiated a lot of it B) I played a lot of PvP which requires a lot of socialization C) I was on a server that still harbored a community. But thats slowly dying because people dont want to play anymore. My friends all quit for the same reasons: BOREDOM. PvP sucks so hard. Not everyone WANTS to PvE anymore despite how good it is.. and fuck, what else is there to do? We had a huge community that thrived off the world and RP and thats dead too. There are no good places to fight in since everything starts to phase and lag. You can go find others easily, you have to know them first. And if you don't put in the time and effort the game just blows... because all the other content really just does it itself (garrisons)

Im not gonna drone on and on, (Im still at work :P) but I hope you get my drift. The community aspect has been dying for a long time, I'll agree, but there is something huge that hit with WoD that really put the nail in the coffin.
