The current state of the Total War community

This coming from someone with Medieval II, Rome II, Shogun II, Attila, and Warhammer I all currently installed. I do love me some historical titles, but I found the recent DLC offerings for Rome II lackluster, with little real content, and largely and unpurchasable. I also see the upcoming "Thrones of Brittaina" game looking really, really pared down with too many missing core game mechanics like that I enjoy removed, and looking way too much like Attila and also largely unpurchasable. And while I love Shogun II with it's Asien setting, and I would love to more diversity into China and a historical Total War set during the Three Kingdoms era, I strongly feel based on the trailer I saw it will be much, much more "Romance" of the Three Kingdoms and way less "History" of the Three Kingdoms. I'm expecting to see basically Warhammer re-skinned to be Three Kingdoms, with legendary lords being re-skinned to be legendary heros of the Three Kingdoms, otherwise it'd be the same game. Now I do find that game interesting, and I might get it, but to me it's just another fantasy title re-skinned if that's how it plays out. So I'm just not seeing the damn about to burst for historical content. Honestly, despite being a major history fan, I'm mostly looking forward to Norsca, I guess.
