Currently living abroad. Should I get a Medical check for Class-1 in my current country before I make life changing decisions? Had a spleen removal operation after an accident 10 years ago.

Thanks for the reply! I'm honestly not sure what you mean by the first part, I feel like something went over my head, haha. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough in the post. I'll try to clarify a bit.

I was considering either flying to Turkey for a few days to get the Class-1 tests done, or going to Rome here in Italy to try to get the tests done here. However, (I'm not sure how accurate it is, but) I've read on some forums that getting medical test in Turkey will register you to the general aviation directorate, and that they won't do the tests without registering you. If it's the same in Italy, could getting "registered" here cause problems in Turkey? Is that even a thing? Or are they completely separate systems? I have no idea how the system works, basically.

And the 2nd part is more about the general hiring processes. I mean, is it normal for companies to do their own tests over the Class-1, to further eliminate candidates? Would my surgery history create problems for me in the future?

I'm trying to decide whether I should pursue this route or not, because I will be taking big risks by basically leaving my current life behind. So I'm not sure what kind of a response I'm looking for. Just different perspectives and ideas might even be very helpful for me at this stage, as I'm doing a preliminary research.

Thanks!
