I curse the day I accepted a job with supervisory responsibilities

Get a new job. I've never accepted jobs with supervisory responsibilities because I've seen others do it and it is rarely a good move. It's great for companies-- they can get you to do a LOT more work while barely paying you any more money, if they give you a raise at all.

I'm a software engineer and have always rejected the team lead roles offered to me. I don't want to be responsible for other engineers, most of them male and with a low EQ. It would be cat-herding in the best-case scenario. Easily 2-3x more work and responsibility but without 2-3x more pay. I don't give a crap about my job title, I have zero interest in pursuing upper management, climbing the ladder, gaining political power at work, etc. I only care about maintaining and building my technical skills. I know that I can always find well-paying work as long as I have technical skills. That's another reason why I would reject team lead roles-- most team leads I've spoken to tell me they spend most of their time managing others, doing non-technical work. You'll eventually lose your technical skills if you do that long enough.

I see myself more as a tradeswoman vs a 'white collar' worker motivated by cliMbinG thE laDdER. Fuck the ladder. I've seen so many people f-ed over by corporate America and I'm not going to offer myself up to them on a feasting table.
