curse of the p90d...

Hey, it's good to learn a new skill, and getting a feel for Celsius isn't a bad one to learn, but let me help you out a bit: 40°C is closer to the highest temperature ever recorded in LA than it is the average. There isn't even a day on record in March that approaches 40°C. Even 30°C still only describes the average high of the hottest months.

The one good thing about Fahrenheit is that it describes things on a scale near that of both human tolerance, and what we are likely to encounter. Basically describing the temperature on a scale of 1-100 with some bleed room on either side for more extreme situations. Celsius makes more sense for things unrelated to the human sensation of ambient heat. But for someone coming from Fahrenheit, it can be hard to move from a scale that is intuitive on its own, to one that is intuitive only when you've grown up with it. 40°C is really hot. Like, I wouldn't want to leave my house sort of hot. LA, on the other hand, has a somewhat mild climate, not going too far into either extreme.
