Why is it a custom on reddit to denounce all forms of christianity?

I was just reading about the witchcraft trials here in Scotland the other day. Turns out these "witches" were real and they were basically herbal medicine practitioners. It wasn't a bad thing to be a witch..it was just an accepted thing.

Then guess what... Christianity became a thing, and in the name of our lord and saviour, it was deemed to be un-Christian. Anyone accused of practicing witchcraft was hanged or burned alive in front of the whole town. Not only that, but the witches were tortured first and forced to confess not only about themselves, but they had to name 11 other people to also be put to death, since it was said that they worked in groups of 12. So 11 innocent people would also be burned alive or hanged, screaming and begging for mercy in front of the whole town. All in the name of religion. This wasn't even that long ago in the grand scheme of things. A couple of hundred years. Again...fuck religion.
