Customer here. What's up with the recent increase in forced conversation at the drive through window?

autistic partner here with slight social anxiety. every shift i get put on dt because it is one of the positions i’m good at, but also get constantly coached at how i should make connections. i cringe everytime but i can do it but i do it so my sm can be pleased. i don’t understand people as is, so i do my best to interact with them as a neurotypical would, even though there’s so much happening in the store. however, neurotypicals at my store struggle with this as well. i feel like we have to conversate so we “can provide that authentic experience” but really it’s just so we can please customers enough to take a survey and give us good scores.
