Yes it is wrong to steal, but her livelihood is on the line only because DoorDash is choosing to hold the driver accountable with seemingly no investigation. As a business they’re responsible for factoring in these losses that occur simply due to holes in their own business model.

They also allow anyone with a driver’s license to work for them, and DoorDash has reported drivers who will steal food several times before their account is suspended. This fucks other businesses who then have to remake that food, and the customers who have to wait maybe hours for their meal all because doordash didn’t (or chose not to) anticipate these outcomes or take responsibility for their system.

Doordash sucks and is incredibly slow to improve. They suck the money out of these simple transactions that they barely manage to middle-man.
