[CW] Tell a heart-warming story about an unlikely friendship that would take the average reader less than 60 seconds to read.

"Hey, Nari, you there?" Seun whispered through the ivy-covered fence.

At first there was only the morning calm. Birds chirped serenely as sunlight painted the fog golden in the lush valley.

A tiny rustle suddenly came from the thickets. Seun tensed and held his breath. Crunching sounds of boots on glass soon followed. Seun exhaled and smiled. He knew those footsteps.

The steps grew closer. Soon, a delicate hand brushed away the leaves, revealing the face of a smiling girl behind the steel wires.

"Hi Seun," Nari said sweetly.

"I missed you Nari." Seun held out his hand as far as he dared from the electrified fence.

"I missed you too, love." Nari reached out for him as well, also taking care not to get too close to the wires.

Seun felt tears welling up in his eyes. Nari looked pretty as always, her glistening eyes adorning her rosy cheeks. She seemed like an angel from heaven, even in her olive drab North Korean uniform. He wanted so bad to touch her, to feel the warmth of her face, if only just once. He contemplated thrusting his hand forward. Who cares what would happen next.

Ring-ding-ding-ding, ring-ding-ding-ding. The alarm on his watch interrupted his thought.

"Shoot. Another patrol's coming soon. I guess I gotta go. Sorry." Seun stood up. "I love you Nari."

Nari's features saddened. She touched her lips and blew his a kiss. "I love you too, Seun."

She stood as well. Her hair was alight with the golden sunshine and she smiled a sad smile. "I'll wait for you, love."

"Yes, yes." Seun nodded, no longer able to hold back his tears. "You will wait for me, and I will wait for you. I will always wait for you..."
