Cyberpunk 2077 had the biggest digital video game launch in history, 80% digital sales in December were on PC.

Yeah but the ps4 is powered by a jaguar apu. These things were insulting to gaming the very day they hit the market. The ps5 is actually seriously impressive in regards to current gaming hardware. It cannot be understated just how terrible the last generation was for the advancement of gaming. Granted the ps5 will probably look shitty in 8 years as well, but for now at least it's fantastic and also shows some learning from the past generations shortcomings.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the games that came out were bad and that anyone who had fun with the consoles is a moron, I'm just saying that on the technology level it absolutely caused tons of features to be cut as well as just compromises in general. Pro consoles aren't even a solution and if anything only make matters worse because games have to run on the baseline versions as well.

Are all the problems due to consoles directly? Probably not. Is it absolutely feasible that the amount of optimization and pruning required to get things booting on the old consoles caused some of these problems as well as created more work that caused the delays and ultimately the unfinished product launch? Yes, absolutely.
