Very hard to answer question. My advice is to participate in Cyber Security competition to see if you like it or not. I participate in Cyber Security competition but I hate it. I enjoy Malware Analyst and Reverse Engineering thou, that is my enjoyment in cyber sec. Next, contact with professor who conduct ML research, do it to get a feel. Usually ML required a PHD. I did research during my junior and senior year, love robotic and autonomous driving car. Yeah you gotta experiencing it to see if you like it or not. You won't be able to get your exact job you want either. If you are go to cyber sec, try to get security clearance job, it will open 40% more job and less competitor.
