I hadn't known about the video series responding to hbomber. I listened to about 10 minutes of the first before giving up.
This guys' approach to counterclaims seem to require taking a total agnosticism toward community discourse or general opinions (e.g., can you actually demonstrate that the community dislikes DS2 or has any recognizable convergence of opinion about its ability to facilitate fun? If not, then I guess we cant say anything about the veracity of the claim). This strikes me as pedantic for the sake of his position rather than an authentic evaluation of DS2s place in community discourse.
Sprinkle a little gamer gate appeasement toward the beginning (i.e., objectivism in gaming criticism) and I'm totally out.
