Tw - violence, abuse.

One day my mom was out all day shopping and when she came home I asked her if she could do my hair. She begrudgingly agreed but kept pulling my hair. She told me to stop complaining and kept doing it. I start crying, she berates me, more crying, more berating... My dad was watching this whole scene unfold and all of a sudden he gets up, walks up to us, grabs my mom by the neck, and throws her against the couch while screaming: "What are you even mad about?? You've been gone all fckn day!!"

Of course I though it was my fault for asking my mom to do my hair, crying, and making her angry in front of my dad. From that day on, I never showed any negative emotions or complained about anything in front of my dad. I also never asked him for help when my mom was acting up out of fear it would make things between them worse. I even took it upon myself to keep the harmony between them and do everything possible to prevent things from escalating (which they always did anyways).
