Reminds me of my own story:
Drove long haul truck for years, one day somewhere on I80 just over the Mississippi I blew a trailer tire with a minivan next to me. I was pulling just a single 53’ so I heard the noise and felt a tug but that’s about it.
The van swerved all over the lane, nearly into the median then nearly into my trailer and back again. I got it to the shoulder and the van pulled off a couple hundred yards ahead. Set the brakes and the flashers, got out and jogged up to see if they were ok.
It was a young woman with two car seat kids in the back. She was white as a sheet, shaking, and crying. I asked if she was ok and if my truck had touched her vehicle. It hadn’t, but it had scared her half to death.
I went back to the truck and called it in so they’d send a service truck to change the tire. She sat there for a good 10-15 minutes before heading on her way.
Being in a four wheeler squeezed in between a trailer and the median leaves so little room in case of emergency
