DAE text their girlfriend/boyfriend all day, every day?

I live with two people in a relationship who are just as you describe yourself with your girlfriend. It sounds like you have a strong bond and good communication.

Something I want to point out from the observer/flatmate/family member's point of view: someone staring down at their phone all day long, in your presence, can start to make you feel like that person doesn't value you, it is a lonely feeling. Like any attention you receive from this person is an intermission in an otherwise engrossing world they would rather return to.

Having a conversation with someone while they are looking up at you with their phone in their hand is just as alienating - what they really want is in their hand, and you are only a momentary distraction. Hearing the phone alerts go off all day long can be one long reminder that you're not important. This is something I do not think many people who stay on their phones 3+ hours a day take into consideration.

This is the other side's point of view to ponder, even if you feel wholeheartedly that you do give enough attention and love to those around yourself.
