sometimes i have conversations with my dad and it's obvious how he forgot about some pretty bad experiences i've had cause of him, and on one hand i feel bad talking about it cause he isn't a bad parent and i've never seen him as a bad dad but at the same time i just him to understand that there are certain things it took me a long time to get over and instead of asking me why i act the way i do when he does some things, and then not listen when i'm seriously explaining the reason, stop doing said things. He doesn't use hands a lot but what he doesn't understand is that it never was about the quantity like FFS i'm almost 23 and sometimes he still does it when we argue instead of just talking to me, then wonder why i flinch when he gets to close?? There's one specific bad episode i vividly remember from i was a child and when i asked about it he said he doesn't remember it?? idk
