Hello everyone, hope you're having a good weekend! I wanted some advice about a ship I was trying to write, where one character is 17 and the other is 18. the 18yo is my OC while the 17yo is from a piece of media I enjoy, and it's a bit of a comfort ship for me (angst/hurt/comfort) as they both have perservered from harsh upbringings and found solace in each other. I understand that the counter argument to this is that I could simply age up the 17yo to 18yo, I just wanted advice on whether or not a 1 year age gap would get me labeled as a creep or worse. I've noticed in a LOT of fandoms as of late that people are very quick to toss around the p-word, and I was concerned about being false flagged as something I'm not for a 1 year age gap. Is this ship something I should give up on or am I overreacting? Thanks in advance!
